Mon, 11 Jan 2016 00:29:26
David Bowie, the stylish and iconoclastic rock, fashion, and film star, passed away after an 18-month battle with cancer on January 10th, just days following his 69th birthday and the release of his 28th studio album, Blackstar.
From Bowie's website: "January 10 2016 - David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief."
David Bowie shared a birth date with Elvis Presley, and indeed, his impact on culture is on par, and perhaps even surpasses that of the The King.
