David Byrne Settles Suit With Former Florida Governor Over Unauthorized Usage of Music

David Byrne has settled his lawsuit with ex-Florida Governor Charlie Crist, who used the Talking Heads hit "Road to Nowhere" in a 2010 political ad without gaining authorization or permission from the band. Tsk tsk. Even politicos break the law, it seems.
According to reports, Crist and his ad agency must pay an unspecified amount to Byrne. Crist also appears in an online apology, via video, saying, "Regrettably, the campaign did not ask permission to obtain a license from Mr. Byrne. In fact, Mr. Byrne has never permitted his songs to be used for advertising of any kind -- a position I respect, deeply." Um, okay, so then why did you use it?
What do you think of Crist's apology?
