David Carradine died exactly a year ago on Thursday. His widow, Anne, has commemorated the anniversary by filing a lawsuit against the production company behind Stretch, the film her husband was working on when he died. Carradine, 72, was found naked and dead in a closet in his Bangkok hotel in quite an unflattering way to go.
TMZ reported that the company assigned an assistant to handle the actor's schedule and transportation while in the foreign city. When the assistant called Carradine to arrange to get him to dinner with film's director, the actor did not answer, so the assistant left without him. An hour later, Carradine made contact with said assistant, who told the actor he was across town and Carradine would need to get himself to the dinner. Carradine died that evening.
Carradine's widow filed a wrongful death suit against the company, claiming her husband would not have died had he been properly looked after by the assistant as promised. Really? The assistant was responsible for keeping her husband alive? That sounds a wee bit outside of the job description of an assistant hired to handle things like car services. Carradine's cause of death was listed as accidental asphyxiation.
Is the Widow Carradine's suit with our without merit?
