French artist, DJ and producer David Guetta will give a keynote address at the 12th edition of MidemNet, which is the music industry forum on value creation and content monetization in the digital era. In lay man's terms? It's a segment on how to make money off content in the increasing digital age. The convention takes place on Saturday, 22 January 2011, ahead of the actual MIDEM in Cannes.
Guetta, who enjoys Rihanna singing on his single, "Who's That Chick?,' will share his experience of ground-breaking partnerships in the area of digital and mobile services with MidemNet participants, and will outline the opportunities in the digital space that artists can now exploit to reach their fans. I am guessing this will go beyond Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, MySpace and other current social media platforms.
A major presence on social networks, Guetta has a huge following on YouTube and Twitter and counts 12 million friends on Facebook. That's a lot of followers for a producer, I'll say. Guetta also enjoys interesting digital partnerships where his fans can remix songs or karaoke them.
