CartDeath Cab for Cutie's Ben Gibbard to Drop "Former Lives" Solo Debut on Oct. 16

Death Cab for Cutie frontman (and Zooey Deschanel's ex-husband) Ben Gibbard will release his first solo album this fall in the form of Former Lives. The album drops on Oct. 16 via Barsuk.
"It is something of a mixed bag. The songs themselves are not all of a particular mode — they’re not all about one subject — and they’re not from one definitive era of my life," the singer told Stereogum. So it sounds like he didn't write a bunch of tunes about the end of his marriage to the adorable "It" girl.
