Fallen Disney teen queen Demi Lovato has issued her first public statement since exiting rehab in January. Lovato released a video here, deeming rehab as "probably the darkest time in my life" and she claimed she got through the process thanks to the support of fans. Lovato also said she is "excited to get back to work."
The vid was taped in Lovato's home. She also said, "The journey that I've been on has been very, very difficult over the past few months. I was dealing with issues that I know not only girls just my age, but of all ages are dealing with...I hope to one day raise awareness of everything just so I can help people, too, just like you guys helped me through this rough time." There were rumors that Lovato was suffering from a drug problem and a self-harming, cutting problem. A dancer on her tour also accused Lovato of punching her in the face. They have since settled their case out of court.
"I can't tell you how much light you guys brought into my life in probably the darkest time in my life," Lovato added. "Without you guys, I wouldn't be here today."
Lovato did not indicate whether or not she will return to Sonny With a Chance, her Disney series. The show is changing its name to So Random for next season, which could mean it wants to split with Lovato.
She also told fans that "I can't wait to see you in person and thank you guys individually. I love all of you and I couldn't have done this without you."
