Dennis Quaid and Julianne Moore to Play the Clintons

Dennis Quaid and Julianne Moore will play former First Couple Bill and Hillary Clinton in The Special Relationship, an HBO film about the former president and former British prime minister Tony Blair, who will be once again portrayed by Michael Sheen. Sheen has played Blair twice before, in the feature film The Queen and the British telefilm The Deal.

Playwright Peter Morgan of Frost/Nixon and The Queen is expected to direct the film once it is fully greenlit. Sheen has worked with Morgan several times and the actor also appeared as David Frost in Frost/Nixon. Helen McCrory will reprise her role as wife Cherie Blair in this film, which looks at the often turbulent relationship between Clinton and Blair and their roles as leaders of the free world.
