While details of his condition are still unclear, the overnight hospitalization of David Gahan on Tuesday has caused the cancellation of several Depeche Mode dates including stops in Athens and Istanbul.

"Even though everyone hoped for the singer's speedy recovery and the rescheduling of the band's show for today," Didi Music—the organizers of the band's Athens gig—said in a statement, "the artist's health condition does not allow it."

At this point, Gahan is reportedly seeking treatment in the United States, which would mean the further cancellation of stops in Romania and Bulgaria.
