Did Kid and Pam Split Up Over Borat?

We don't really believe it, either, but sure enough, rumors are already surfacing that Pamela Anderson's role in the hit comedy Borat was the last straw that triggered her recent breakup with her husband of four months, Kid Rock.
The New York Post quoted a "friend of Anderson's" in yesterday's gossip column, saying that Rock blew up when he saw Borat for the first time at a private screening. "Bob started screaming at Pam," the source told the Post, referring to Rock by his given name, Bob Ritchie, "saying she had humiliated herself and telling her, 'You're nothing but a whore! You're a slut! How could you do that movie?' - in front of everyone. It was very embarrassing."
In the film, the title character -- played by British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen -- drives across America to propose marriage to Pamela Anderson after seeing her character on the TV show Baywatch. The film concludes with an elaborate prank, which appears spontaneous but which Anderson has repeatedly said she was in on.
"She was in on the gag from the very beginning and loved doing the movie," the friend said of Anderson's involvement in Borat. Of Rock, the friend added, "Pam thought he could have a sense of humor about the movie...[But] ever since that night, it has been icicles between them. Bob is just a very unhappy and angry man."
You can't say the couple didn't try: After an on-again, off-again relationship dating back nearly six years, Pamela and the Kid finally tied the knot not once, but three times, beginning with a ceremony aboard a yacht in St. Tropez, France in late July and continuing their wedding tour with stops in Beverly Hills (where they were officially united on August 3rd) and Nashville, Tennessee (on August 17th).
Anderson cited the usual "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the divorce, although her friend was more specific in the Post report, saying the split was based on Rock's "male insecurity and major anger issues."
Sacha Baron Cohen and his Borat alterego could not be reached for comment.
