Queens native Quamine Taylor has been charged with trespassing, as he was taken into custody on April 1 after being found hiding on rapper/mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs' property. It was no April Fools Day joke, either.
A caretaker spotted Taylor, 30, at Diddy's East Hampton residence. Diddy was not on site or at home at the time of the incident.
The New York Post reports that Taylor entered via an unlocked basement door. He hung out for 24 hours, rummaging through the closets while eating Diddy's food and drinking his liquor.
Taylor has been charged with second-degree criminal trespassing and petit larceny. He is being held on $2,000 bail at the Suffolk County jail in Riverside.
His mother told the paper that Taylor grew up listening to music made by the rapper. "He has a long history of mental illness, and he has been off his meds for a while," she said. "We have been trying to get him some help."
What is the proper punishment in a case like this? It's tricky.
