There seemed to be masses of talk this week about whether or not Die Antwoord were splitting up, not least from the band members themselves. Ever-outspoken Ninja told Exclaim that, "Die Antwoord dies on that day (in September 2017). It's all over. I feel beautiful about it. I'm not scared of the end. I'm a Ninja. I'm not scared of death. However, his colleague Yolandi Visser said on Instagram that "DIE ANTWOORD IS NOT SPLITTING UP," stating that the journalist twisted Ninja's words.

What we do know is that Die Antwoord put out a new album, Mount Ninji and da Nice Time Kid, and it's typically insane. Cymbals Eat Guitars, Dawes, Mac Miller, Touché Amoré, Usher, and the Gaslamp Killer also put out new full-lengthers during a week packed with good ones. Here are some of our favorites:

Die Antwoord - Mount Ninji and da Nice Time Kid - Zef Recordz

Will it be their last album? We doubt it but you never know. Just listen anyway. Zany, and ever so slightly psychotic, the world would be a much less interesting place without Die Antwoord in it.

Against Me! - Shape Shift With Me - Total Treble

The name of the album gives away just how autobiographical this new album is, with singer Thomas Gabel now Laura Jane Grace and evidently much happier. The band sounds better as a result.

    AlunaGeorge - I Remember - Island

AlunaGeorge told us this week that this is a very "real" and "personal" album, which is very evident on this loved-up title track. Dealing with life and relationships, this is the duo at it's best.

    Preoccupations - Preoccupations - Jagjaguwar

Rarely has the feeling of anxiety been better expressed musically than by Preoccupations in the track "Anxiety," which just closes in as it progresses. "We're pretty easy going," the band told us this week. "We're pretty easy at taking things as they come and dealing with things when they all go to hell, which happens all the time." You'd never know.
