In the usually confusing world of Die Antwoord it's sometimes difficult to know what's happening, and which stories will bare the weight of scrutiny. However, what does seem real today is an announcement from Yolandi and Ninja as they reveal the name of a new and upcoming album — The Book of Zef.
Last year Ninja claimed that the album would be the band's final release, but he did mention that the duo would be moving toward the movie industry. Within twenty-four hours Yolandi took to her instagram to dispute any reports that the band were breaking up. So, whilst nuance and enigmatic messages were discussed things were never cleared up, until now.
Now, a press release claims that the new album will be the final album from the South African rave-rappers. The follow-up to 2016's Mount Ninji and Da Nice Time Kid has already spawned its first track — "Love Drug" which you can check out below, along with its emoji and sticker-book filled lyric video.
Tied to the announcement of the new album comes a string of tour dates, as Die Antwoord commence a global spree of headlining dates. Starting in the middle of May at a date in Mexico, and wrapping up in September with a show in San Francisco — with stops in Europe along the way it seems like the band will be going out with a series of very loud bangs.
