Japanese rock band Dir en Grey have had to axe their upcoming tour plans. Vocalist Kyo's physician has recommended the band sit out any live dates after conducting an extensive examination of the singer's vocal chords. Now, the band has regretfully canceled its participation in "The Still Reckless Tour" and has axed the solo shows scheduled between March and April 2012. Bum out. We'll miss 'em.
The band has released the following statement to their fans and those involved in the tour:
"To our fans as well as the other bands and staff involved in the tour we extend our sincere apologies. We ask for your understanding that this was an extremely difficult decision to make. Thank you all for your continued support, which is deeply appreciated."
"The Still Reckless Tour" also features Asking Alexandria, Trivium, I See Stars, Motionless in White and The Amity Affliction and is one of the most anticipated bills of the spring. The band was also planning to play a pair of solo headlining shows in Seattle on March 7 and St. Petersburg, FL on March 20.
Get better soon, Kyo. Take care of your cords.
Send get well wishes out to Kyo of Dir En Grey.
