Director Randall Miller has now been charged with involuntary manslaughter and criminal trespass following the death of a camera assistant while on the Georgia set of the biopic about The Allman Brothers Band's Gregg Allman.
Yikes. Those are some pretty major charges.
Sarah Jones, 27, was hit by a train and killed in February. The crew was shooting footage for the film Midnight Rider on railroad tracks in Wayne County. They did not have permission to be on those tracks. Additionally, six crew members were also injured.
The production was halted, Allman distanced himself from the project and a criminal investigation was launched.
The Wayne County District Attorney has indicted Miller, his wife, producer Jody Savin and the film's executive producer Jay Sedrish on the two counts.
