Disney Queen Selena Gomez Loses Voice, Cancels Appearances

Disney teen queen Selena Gomez has canceled appearances at state fairs in Delaware and Ohio because of strained vocal chords. Tea. Ricola. Warm water. No talking unless absolutely necessary. Those are Dr. Sciarretto's orders. If Gomez follows them, she'll be back to belting out tunes in no time at all.
"I am extremely disappointed to cancel these shows," the star said in a statement. "My fans mean the world to me and I was so excited to perform for them." Aw, isn't she sweeter than a cherry pie with Rheddi Whip topping, to borrow a phrase from the Beastie Boys!
Delaware State Fair officials said the show could not be rescheduled before the end of the fair, and full refunds will be given to those who purchased their tickets directly from the Delaware State Fair. The Ohio show was rescheduled for November. Delaware Fair officials said Allstar Weekend will perform in Gomez's place for free.
Gomez is a busy gal, as she prepares for the release of her sophomore album with her band, The Scene. The platter is tentatively titled A Year Without Rain and a September 28 release date is being eyed. It will include a song that was co-written and features background vocals from Katy Perry, who is chasing Lady Gaga as the biggest thing in pop music these days.
Are you stoked to hear the Perry/Gomez collaboration?
