Chicago metal band earn high marks from their peers.

Since 2000's The Sickness, Disturbed have risen through the ranks to become one of this generation preeminent hard rock bands. They've consistently delivered with number one album after number one album remaining multiplatinum in a day and age when rock is supposedly dead and "nobody buys music." They've refuted those claims because their music speaks for itself. The quartet—David Draiman [vocals], Dan Donegan [guitar], Mike Wengren [drums], and John Moyer [bass]—churn out songs that are as infectious as they are inimitable and incisive. Nobody sounds like Disturbed, and they manage to stay heavy while keeping it hypnotic.

The Chicago beast has been "asleep" since 2011, but they're returning with their sixth full-length, Immortalized [Reprise/Warner Bros. Records], on Friday August 21, 2015. Recorded in secret with Kevin Churko [Five Finger Death Punch, Ozzy Osbourne], it's the hard rock event of the year. We can attest to that as we've heard it, and it takes the spirit of The Sickness and updates it with the epic, refined metal bombast of Asylum, yielding the ultimate Disturbed record. If you've heard "The Vengeful One," you know what we're talking about. So, we spoke to a group of the band's peers about their feelings on Disturbed. Everybody from Avenged Sevenfold and Korn to actor Jackie Earle Haley and Unlocking The Truth had something to say.

What can you say about Disturbed?

    M. Shadows of Avenged Sevenfold

    M. Shadows: They're just a great metal band. They've become really good friends over the years, and I had the pleasure of singing on a Device song with David. They're waving the flag for sure and helping keep this alive.

Jonathan Davis of Korn, Killbot, & J Devil

Jonathan Davis: I f***ing love Disturbed, bro. I always have ever since I first heard them back in like 2000. They've got a distinct sound and heavy energy. We've done some killer tours with them, and I always look forward to doing more. They're just great f***ing guys too.
