Recurring back problems have forced Dolly Parton to postpone her U.S. tour from its initial launch on February 28 in Minneapolis to late April and May. Doctors have told Parton she must rest for six to eight weeks, which includes her highly-anticipated appearance on March 14 at Austin's South by Southwest festival.
"You try wagging these puppies around a while and see if you don't have back problems," Parton joked in a statement. "Seriously though, the doctors said I will be good as new in a few weeks, and I can't wait to get back out there."
Parton's new record, Backwoods Barbie, is due out on February 26 through her Dolly Records label. Her European tour, from June 13 in Stockholm to July 5-6 at London's O2 Arena, is still on as scheduled according to Parton's publicist.
