Dr. Dre is taking a well-deserved break. The rapper/producer will step away from making music after he wraps two projects he is working on with a pair of up and coming rappers.
WENN reports that Dre, who got his start with N.W.A in the 1980s, said, "These are the next two artists I'm working on, Slim the Mobster and Kendrick Lamar. I think that's when I'm gonna just wrap it up for a minute because I've been working on music for 27 years now and the longest I've ever been out of the studio in 27 years has been two weeks."
Yeah, he deserves a day off after 27 years of hustling and nose-to-the-grindstoning it! The rapper is "wrapping" up!
He continued, "So, yeah, I feel like I'm gonna take a little bit of a break. I'm never gonna stop music, it's like air to me. (But) I'm (going to) take a little bit of a break. Enjoy some time with the family 'til I get that itch to get back in."
Dre has said he will retire as a rapper after he releases Detox, which has been marinating for years. No release date has been given for that platter. We're so impatient. We want Detox.
Will you miss Dr. Dre when he retires from rapping?
