Drake has announced a summer tour with Atlanta-based rapper Future. The Summer Sixteen Tour announcement comes at a fruitful time for Toronto's favorite son, as we near the album release of Drake's highly anticipated follow-up to 2013's Nothing Was The Same. Views From The Six is due out on Friday, April 29. Views From the Six will be released as an Apple Music exclusive, according to Pitchfork. As part of the album's unveiling, Drake recently shared the album artwork, which features the rapper sitting atop the CN Tower.
The Summer Sixteen Tour is co-presented by Apple Music, and features OVO signees Roy Woods and DVSN as supporting acts, Pitchfork reports. The tour begins July 20, at Austin, TX's Frank Erwin Center. Tour tickets will go on sale this Friday (April 29). In addition to announcing the tour with Future, Drake has also shared the time and place of the seventh annual OVO Fest. The festival begins July 29, with the third installment of Drake's label's basketball tournament, OVO Bounce, at the Molson Ampitheatre in Toronto. Then, on Sunday July 31, Drake and Future will be joined by Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa for a concert at Air Canada Centre. The next day, August 1, the Summer Sixteen headliners will return for round-two.
As of now, the official tracklist to Views From the Six is not known. Drake has released a slew of singles this year that may or may not show up on the album. In January he released "Summer Sixteen," and then, earlier this month he shared "One Dance," and "Pop Style."
The Summer Sixteen Tour will take Drake and Future across North America, before wrapping up September 17, at Vancouver, British Columbia's Pepsi Live at Rogers Arena.
