International music, television and film star Drake Bell, most well known as character Drake Parker on the Nickelodeon smash hit television series Drake & Josh, will digitally release his new EP A Reminder on June 28th. A Reminder was produced by John Fields (Jellyfish, Rooney, Jack's Mannequin, Jonas Brothers) in Los Angeles; the EP's melodic/pop-driven first single, "Terrific" will be available digitally on June 14th wherever music is sold online.

Speaking on why he chose to self-release an EP at this time, Bell said, "I have so much going on right now with my acting, and a full album will probably not happen until next year. I wanted to release these four tracks for my fans . They haven't had new music for a while."

A Reminder sees Bell's sophisticated pop style falling comfortably into lineage that stretches from childhood heroes to contemporary pop sounds. "I'd say my main influences are The Beatles (of course), Harry Nilsson, and The Beach Boys, but I'm also hugely influenced by Rufus Wainwright, Nick Drake, Elliott Smith, Francois Hardy, and a lot of Brazilian music," said Bell. The EP comes nearly five years after the release of Bell's Billboard charted It's Only Time, which spawned the Radio Disney hit, "Makes Me Happy," and reflects his growth as a singer and songwriter.

Fans will hear a more mature Bell on the EP's first track, "Terrific," too. "The song is really about calling someone out on not being themselves," said Bell. "People growing up and trying to fit into different scenes, getting into different things that aren't necessarily good for them or who they are. Trying to be someone that they're not, and maybe shouldn't be, and watching that happen right before your eyes," he added.

Are you going to set yourself A Reminder?
