What is it with musicians these days — can't they find enough of their own parties to attend? Just a couple of weeks ago we learned that the Chainsmokers crashed a prom, and now Drake was seen heading back to high school to get in on the dancing. This time, though, the rapper was in attendance as a chaperone to his second cousin, Jalaah Moore.
The Toronto rapper flew to Memphis to accompany his family member for what must now rank as one of the most memorable nights of her life. With Drake as chaperone Jalaah and her date were treated to custom matching outfits, a stylish entrance in a white Rolls Royce.
The rapper didn't perform at the prom he did throw an after-party at the local Hard Rock Cafe for just four hundred of the kids' closest friends.
Drake, who just ranked in the top five wealthiest hip-hop artists in Forbes, is also enjoying the ongoing success of his most recent album, More Life, which has won critical praise and broke streaming records, with over 61 million plays on Spotify and almost 90 million plays on Apple music in the first day alone. It's reassuring to hear of a rapper who appears to have it all, and running a tight schedule, can still make time for family.
