Last night, Sunday May 21st 2017, the stars of music gathers in Las Vegas at the T-Mobile Arena to celebrate one of the biggest nights in the industry. The Billboard Music Awards 2017 didn't fail to deliver.

A wealth of contrasting artists took to the stage and used the event as a platform to produce some of the most memorable performances that global audiences will remember.

Here, then, is our round-up of our favorite ten performances of the night, along with all of the winners of the Billboard Music Awards 2017.

Sam Hunt, "Body Like a Back Road"
Sam Hunt is one of those artists who can blend genres to produce a style all of his own whilst still remaining true to the country tradition. "Body Like A Back Road" was a pared down performance from an artist familiarizing himself with a global audience, and showing the best of the simple style.

Camila Cabello, "I Have Questions"/"Crying in the Club"
The ex-Fifth Harmony member broughts a fiery feast and a good bunch of vocal work in her first outing as a solo performer. Selecting to share two track "I Have Questions" and "Crying in the Club," Cabello's carefully honed performance was the clear work of a stage veteran — dancing her way into mainstream pop success. Solo living looks good on Cabello.

    Julia Michaels, "Issues"
On her debut single, "Issues" Julia Michaels had a simple introduction. Plucked violin strings and a healthy dose of humility. A hugely successful songwriter for other artists took center stage and shared a vocal performance which may just be one of the highest points of her career so far. Clearly enjoying, and excelling, on the world stage Michaels made the most of her time, and the audiences will remember the set for a long while to come.

    Lorde, "Green Light"
Lorde is known as an artist doing things with her own style. Last night was no different. Taking to the stage to sing a karoake version of her latest hit "Green Light" the singer was as inventive with her time on stage as we would have hoped. This was pop done right — with heart, enthusiasm and an awareness of the relationship between music and fan.

Cher, "Believe"/"If I Could Turn Back Time"
Cher took to the stage a couple of times last night. Once was to receive the Icon Award, another was to show just how she earned the prize. At 71 years old the singer is now an authentic legend, with over half a century in front of cameras and up on stage. She performed two of her biggest hits, and put on a show that displayed all kinds of insane flexibility. Also sharing news that she is currently working on new tunes — last night was one to remember for the icon and her fan base.

Bruno Mars, "Versace on the Floor"
When did Bruno Mars not know how to work a stage? Last night, the man in the middle of an album cycle stood up and got down with one of the slickest moments of the night. What did you expect? Last night's performance of "Versace on the Floor" was as stylish and as danceable as the congregation of peers could have hoped. It was short, sweet and delivered with complete ease, as only Mars can.

Celine Dion, "My Heart Will Go On"
Was there an artist more at home on stage in Vegas than Celine Dion? Her performance of her global smash "My Heart Will Go On" re enforced the timelessness of a classic that's weathered the 20 years since it topped the charts. The performance was nostalgic, tastefully delivered and struck the right chord in reminding audiences of the endurance of love and classic tracks that have undoubtedly shaped culture.

    Drake, "Gyalchester"
In a pyrotechnic performance that blew all other contenders out of the water Drake splashed around the pool of the Bellagio Hotel and Casino. His track was a smart choice, since it was slightly surprising. His mood was evidenced with a kind of playfulness of a man who knows his work is done. With a record-breaking 13 awards on the night Drake won more than just silverware.

    Nicki Minaj Medley
The theme of Nicki Minaj's nine-minutes of stage time appeared to be a ‘sexy Fury Road'. Lil Wayne, Jason Derulo, David Guetta joined the rap queen on stage as she leapt from one vehicular tune to the next. She writhed around, she snarked, sneered and poured her sexual dynamite into every moment. She opened the Billboard music with a bang and set the volume on ‘loud 7 spectacular'.

    Miley Cyrus, "Malibu"
Miley Cyrus recently shared a reboot of her sound. She's dropped the Bangerz and Dead Petz vibe and returned to the earthier, country-flavored sound that affected her approach to crafting pop. Her track "Malibu" perfectly captures the sense of the artists' "now" moment, and the singers tears at last night's show shared a moment of realness on the path of her search for authenticity. It was a great moment.
