Two people accused of attempting to blackmail blind singer Stevie Wonder have been freed from jail. But they have also been ordered to stay away from the singer after reaching a plea deal with prosecutors.
WENN reports that Alpha Walker was sentenced to 292 days behind bars after pleading no contest to a charge against him and he was freed on time already served. He claimed to be related to the singer.
Walker, 38, and his girlfriend Tamara Diaz, 38, had been charged with attempted extortion over claims they threatened to sell false information about the "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" singer unless he paid them $5 million. Yikes. Not cool. At all.
Diaz also entered a no contest plea and was sentenced to time served.
They have been sentenced to three years probation a piece and must steer clear of the singer, his family and co-workers.
Does the punishment fit the crime?
