Last night (Monday, Dec. 7), Eagles of Death Metal joined U2 on stage in Paris less than a month after the attack on their concert at Le Bataclan in a show of musical strength. Eagles of Death Metal singer and guitarist Jesse Hughes stated, "They reminded us that the bad guys never take a day off, and therefore we rock 'n rollers cannot either… And we never will." The two bands joined together for a stirring rendition of Patti Smith's "People Have the Power," and EODM performed "I Love You All The Time." For more information on the concert see BBC's coverage.
The concert was also televised on HBO, as U2's own November performances in Paris were rescheduled following the attacks. This allowed U2 to present EODM to a massive audience. For more coverage on U2's role in bringing EODM back to Paris, go to the Los Angeles Times article.
In another emotional tribute, Eagles of Death Metal returned to Bataclan to pay their respects to the victims, leaving flowers on the memorial, and reading their own tribute. For more information, check out the Rolling Stone article.
U2 and EODM tweeted back and forth, as well:
