The New York City rock band, Electric Sun, have officially changed their name to Born Cages. The band's decision was predicated on an existing band using their previous name.

So, here we are, introducing you to Born Cages!

Lead vocalist / guitarist Vlad Holiday explains the new name further, "We're all born 'cages' of some sort, in some way. I don't believe anyone is born truly free. It's your own life decisions and understanding of freedom that makes you liberated. We still live in a world where some people's rights are determined by factors they can't change. Although some are obviously born with much heavier burdens and surroundings than others, we all still have problems. We all have cages that we need to open. Life is extremely imperfect - but you have to find the 'cage' that's holding you down, acknowledge its existence, and then figure out a way to break out."

    We like that explanation.

Born Cages recently posted a cover of Bob Dylan's "Don't Think Twice, It's All Right" on the new Born Cages Facebook. Visit www.facebook.com/borncages and "like" the page to check it out.

The New York City based Born Cages formed in 2011. Within one year the young band has already released an EP, The Gilded Cage, opened two sold-out shows for Guns N' Roses and shared stages with such bands as Lights Resolve, Ludo & Terrible Things. The band has had music played on Q104.3 in New York and recently recorded a session at the Gibson NYC showroom that premiered on Purevolume. Born Cages is Vlad Holiday (lead vocals/lead guitar), Amanda Carl (keyboards/backing vocals), Steve Kellner (bass guitar/backing vocals) and Dave Tantao (drums).
