Elton John Suing The Times for Libel

Cat fight!
Elton John –that's Sir Elton John to you-- is suing editors at British newspaper The Times for libel since they claimed he avoided his tax obligations.
A June-printed article implied that John had been advised to engage in an immoral tax scheme by a former accountant.
A correction was published, according to WENN, acknowledging the accountant in the piece had never been employed by the singer. So much for fact checking. John felt that the four-line retraction and correction was not good enough. It was not a proper "make good" in his eyes.
John is concerned about the effect the article may have on his charity work, stating, "The allegations are particularly damaging to the claimant's reputation in the sphere of charity fundraising."
They feel the article has caused severe damage to his rep, along with embarrassment and distress.
