Elton John has finished his new album The Diving Board and plans to release it in the fall.

The platter was written and recorded in a matter of weeks in Los Angeles and produced by T-Bone Burnett.

"It was T Bone's idea to get back with piano, bass and drums," the Rocket Man told Rolling Stone. "He said, 'Let's start with that.'" Backing John are Raphael Saadiq on bass and Jay Bellerose (John Mellencamp, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss) on drums.

John dubbed it the "most exciting" solo album he has done in a while. Bring it, Elton. We wanna hear.

Will you leap off The Diving Board this fall?
