eMusic Expands Catalog To Include Sony
According to a press release revealed on Rollingstone.com today, all Sony releases that are at least two years old will be added to eMusic's growing catalog this fall, including cuts from The Clash, Billy Joel, Michael Jackson, OutKast and Bruce Springsteen. Chief eMusic executive Danny Stein claims the company is still in talks with the music industry's other majors—Universal, EMI and Warner Music—and admits that the site will have to raise the rates of some monthly download plans to compensate for the influx of new songs and the demands of Sony and some indie labels.—The ARTISTdirect Staff
