There's nothing like getting right to the heart of the matter. You've got to give people exactly what they want, especially in pop music. Enrique Iglesias knows that, and he cherishes his fans enough to deliver over and over again—more than any other star in this modern age. His tenth full-length album, Sex and Love [iTunes link], definitely lives up to its titular promise with some of his sexiest jams to date. That says a lot in his catalog too, but it's absolutely true.
He goes right for it on the sizzling dubstep-ed up "Heart Attack" and the opening track "I'm a Freak", declaring a fun freakiness alongside Mr. Worldwide Pitbull. It's a quintessential party record or bedroom romp however you look at it. By the same token, Pitbull shows back up on "Let Me Be Your Lover" as the longtime collaborators each show a different side of themselves. The seduction only heightens yet under another light. Enrique gets wild with Romeo Santos on the aptly dubbed "Loco", and Flo Rida drops a rapid fire Southern powder keg of a verse on the unshakable "There Goes My Baby".
At the same time, the album showcases Enrique's impressive and inimitable vocal range. "El Perderor" puts him toe-to-toe with icon Marco Antonio Solís , and both men let out verses worth swooning over. Meanwhile, "You And I" instantly transfixes as "Noche y Día" featuring Yandel and Juan Magan. It might just be one of the most powerful and potent Latin anthems ever.
If you're a pop fan, you need SEX AND LOVE. It's downright essential for 2014. It's also Enrique's biggest and boldest masterpiece yet.
