    Eric Clapton sold a painting by German artist Gerhard Richter for a record-breaking $34.2 million. The classic rock legend bought the artwork for only $3.4 million back in 2001, so clearly, the guitarist made a killing by selling it. That's what we call a profit.

    The painting, titled "Abstraktes Bild (809-4)," was put up for auction at Sotheby's in London, with advance estimates hovering at around $19 million.

    An anonymous buyer bought it at a price that was much higher than expected.

    Fuck yeah it was much higher.
