Everything Everything is currently on the road, enjoying incredible critical praise for the album, Get To Heaven.
For the initiated, the momentum of the indie-rock band comes as no surprise; the group's debut album Man Alive was an arresting release that challenged listeners to move through infectious electro-pop-guitar-stained tracks. Angular rhythms and surreal lyrics that somehow penetrated to the center of subject-matters brought a fresh scope to dance floors and airwaves. It appeared like Everything Everything was a band that could bring audiences exactly what they didn't know they needed. Awards were won, more nominations were received, and by the time sophomore release Arc reached listeners, the anticipation for fresh material was great.
With the release of this third album, Everything Everything appears to be approaching the cruising altitude of which they suggested with those first two releases. Lyrical content is sharpened to a direct, visceral element and beats are crisper, more contagious, and the whole appears to have reached the unstoppable status of a great band.
ARTISTdirect Interview's Christopher Friedmann caught up with singer Jonathan Higgs to discuss life on the road, how material was being shaped by experience, and the inspiration of heroes who prove that dance will never die.
