ARTISTdirect.com has partnered with Papa Roach to premiere this exclusive EPK/video where they detail their new album The Connection. The vid starts in present day, in August 2012, where singer Jacoby Shaddix is battling throat issues and has a procedure which forced the band to table its appearance on the UPROAR tour.
He is in the hospital, holding up a Pepto Bismol pink Post-It, which reads, "Scared," as he deals with his vocal problems. It's Shaddix at his most vulnerable.
The clip then flashes back two months prior, where Shaddix and the rest of the band discuss the album and their "connection" to fans.
The redemptive power of music is discussed in depth in this five minute clip, as well.
Shaddix get super intimate, sharing that he and his wife Kelly split while making the record. They came to point in their relationship where they had been going their separate ways for a year and it came to a head. The singer shares that his wife wanted to go experience life without him. The moment he feared the most was something dear to him being taken away from him against his will.
He says, in hindsight, it was the best thing to happen to his family and it was a wake up call. He says they still love one another. That type of revelation is incredibly personal, but he felt compelled to share it with the fans.
That is why P Roach and their fans are forever connected and bound in a way that cannot be severed, loosened or undone.
