Exclusive Music Video Premiere: Fireships, "Long Shadow"

Happy 4/20! ARTISTdirect has teamed up with Fireships to premiere the video for "Long Shadow." The song has roots in The Rolling Stones. Wait, what? We'll get to that in a second.
This video was filmed in New Orleans by Aimée Toledano and Rick Olivier, two "born-and-raised" friends who are steeped in local lore. The bar scenes were shot at the legendary Bud Rip's in the Bywater, the house scenes along Esplanade, and the red Volvo used in the video was inherited by Aimée from her dear friend, all-time rock 'n' roll great Alex Chilton of Big Star fame.
So look out for those cool things in the clip.
Their self-titled album is out April 21. [iTunes link]
"'Long Shadow' is a song about trying to change course in life, to outrun ghosts from the past. Keith Richards is a big influence of mine; this was inspired by his playing and writing, and his brilliant memoir, Life. The video release date of 4/20 is purely an accident! New Orleans felt like the right place for this song's video. When I was coming through, I looked up a couple of artist friends, who were born and raised there, and we spent a day running around, from the Bywater to Shell Beach. There's nothing like working with local artists who know and love their town and take a serious interest in its portrayal," the band told us.
With that in mind, enjoy this little slice of NOLA and an awesome song and video.
