Target and No Doubt teamed up to offer an deluxe edition of Push and Shove, the band's first album in over a decade. The Target edition has eight extra songs, including five exclusives. The deluxe edition can be purchased at Target locations nationwide or at Target.com September 25. Pre-orders are available now. The band and the retailer have teamed up with ARTISTdirect.com to exclusively reveal the title tracks for the exclusive material.
So what's exclusive on the Target version? Well, there's No Doubt's cover of Adam and the Ants' classic 1981 single "Stand and Deliver," available for the very first time commercially as a recording. The band performed the song on an episode of Gossip Girl and played it live during their 2009 tour. A pair of acoustic tracks – "Looking Hot Acoustic – Santa Monica Sessions" and "Easy Acoustic – Santa Monica Sessions" are featured, as are two remixed tracks, titled "One More Summer (Jonas Quant Remix)" and "Push And Shove (Anthony Gorry Remix)."
So if you are a No Doubt diehard counting down the days until Push and Shove finally lands, then you'll want to be sure and nab the Target exclusive, as it is teeming with extra tracks that any self-respecting fan will want for their complete No Doubt collection. Plus, what's cooler than an Adam and the Ants cover?
"We can't wait for everyone to hear our new music,” said No Doubt bassist Tony Kanal in a statement. "It's been a labor of love that we're so proud of."
The first single from Push and Shove is called "Settle Down" and it's an addictive-as-hell, dancehall-flavored, reggae-rubbed track. It's like Gwen Stefani and co. picked up right where they left off in the early '00s.
Are you going to pick up the Target-exclusive edition of Push and Shove on September 25?
