ARTISTdirect is pleased to introduce our beloved readership to the soulful and sultry Cole Williams, who is one helluva diva, and her new track "Shit Don't Get Happened." Ain't that the truth!
"This song tells a very relevant story," Williams told us about her song. "It doesn't matter who starts the shit, who's in love with the shit, or who's committed to the shit; sometimes shit will never get happened, because it's not supposed to. I'm an artist. Part of my job is taking personal experiences and sharing my wisdom through melody and rhythm."
She continued, "This song is the most personal I've ever been on a record; I stripped everything down to only my raw emotions, it's about the story. Just me and piano, my first instrument, paired with my first love. Maybe shit don't ever get happened because I'm in love with my art. How could any man or woman compete with that shit?"
That's some shit! And yes, we've lived it when shit don't get happened for lots of reasons.
Isn't this like your favorite song of 2013? We're crazy about this shit.
Williams is from Brooklyn and she's a songwriter, composer, producer and artist extraordinaire. Earlier this year, Williams officially joined The Pimps of Joytime as their newest singer and percussionist. Cole and Mayteana Morales now stand as the band's two leading women, offering both a sexiness and grounded energy.
