Opening in theaters on June 29th is the new drama People Like Us, which was written by Star Trek scribes Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, and also marks Kurtzman's directorial debut. The film stars several actors that the two writers have collaborated with before including Chris Pine (Star Trek), Olivia Wilde (Cowboys & Aliens), and Jon Favreau (Cowboys & Aliens), as well as Elizabeth Banks (Man on a Ledge), Michelle Pfeiffer (Dark Shadows), and Mark Duplass (Your Sister's Sister). The film also features a score by Academy Award-winner A.R. Rahman (Slumdog Millionaire), and an end credit song co-written and performed by singer/songwriter Liz Phair (Exile in Guyville) entitled "Dotted Line."

IAR's Managing Editor Jami Philbrick recently had the rare pleasure of sitting down with iconic musician Liz Phair totalk about her work on the end credit song "Dotted Line" for People Like Us. The popular rock star discussed how she became involved in the project, her first meeting with writer/director Alex Kurtzman, being a Star Wars fan and NOT a Star Trek fan, collaborating on the end credit song with A.R. Rahman, and the difference between creating music for a movie as apposed to writing songs for her own albums.
