Happy Tuesday, ARTISTdirectioners!
We're opening your week with this awesome premiere of Flintface's "Army of Rejects" video from Hope, out July 22 via Tell the Rest Records.
"'Army of Rejects' is a song about all of our stories," Flintface told us. "I want it to be interpreted from the listener's point of view. The music video reflects that... It's not comprised of tight shots of me rocking out to my own song, but rather portraits of beautiful faces (not actors) just being their beautiful selves."
We love it! What a change of pace from that standard way of doing music videos. Nice job, Flintface.
The background of Flintface aka Joe Scorsone can be traced to the streets of West Philadelphia, where he was involved from a very young age in giving back to the local community.
The moniker "Flintface" comes from a scripture that reads as follows: "I will not be disgraced. Therefore I have set my face like flint, and I know I will not be put to shame. I don't want to preach. I just want to be a guy who tries to speak the truth and hopefully helps to empower others."
The single "Army of Rejects" will be available digitally on June 24.
Also, the album features contributions from, among others, Rami Jaffee (The Wallflowers, Foo Fighters), Tim Pierce (Jason Mraz, Bruce Springsteen), Kenny Aronoff (The Smashing Pumpkins, John Mellencamp), Matt Chamberlain (Edie Brickell & New Bohemians) and Joe's wife Beth sings backup in the band.
And that is why we knew we had to once again reacquaint you with Flintface.
