Exclusive Video Premiere: Jon Regen, "Home Again" - He performs in a studio setting + find what actor Jeremy Irons has to do with J. Regen!

If you are sitting in front of your computer, with glazed-over eyes, tiring of the monitor and its lighting, why not allow ARTISTdirect and Jon Regen to transport you to a live performance, if only for a few minutes? This video of Regen performing "Home Again," spliced among other footage, will make you feel like you're front and center, enjoying him sing and play right in front of your eyes. It's like being vicariously transported to an intimate studio gig.

Regen has worked with actor Jeremy Irons, but more on that in a sec.

"'Home Again,' from my new album Stop Time, was one of the first songs I recorded with producer Mitchell Froom. We had a few days of pre-production before the band—Davey Faragher and Pete Thomas from Elvis Costello and the Imposters—arrived, so we jumped in on some of the more intimate, solo tracks."

Regen continued, "The piano and vocals were recorded in one take, with my vocal harmonies added immediately after. Then things started to get really interesting, with Mitchell adding layers of keyboard loops and effects on top of the basic tracks. It's amazing how he really conveyed the feeling of longing I imagined when I initially wrote the song."

He finished, "When we were cutting the live, studio takes together for the song's video, we originally imagined shooting extra footage in New York City. One night at the cameraman's house in Weehawken, New Jersey, I said, 'Hey, instead of driving into New York tonight to shoot, why don't we do it here? New York looks better from across the river!' And the rest, I guess, is history!"

New Jersey is always where it's at, yo!

But even better than that, the album was spawned by a chance meeting with actor Jeremy Irons at a party in London. After a few glasses of wine and conversation, they began jamming—Regen on piano, Irons on a cello he found on the wall—and wrote the tune "Stop Time," which was the anchor for the whole album.
