Bottoms up! Toss one back! It's Friday and we're premiering the video for Ten Ton Man's "The Drinking Song."
If you dig Tom Waits, Nick Cave, Lou Reed and Johnny Cash, then Ten Ton Man, comprised of Paul Livornese on lead vocals and guitar, Paul Triff on drums and Paul Dugan on bass, are for you. It's the "All Paul" band!
The punk-polka "The Drinking Song" is one of 10 tracks on Ten Ton Man's self-titled debut album, which offers a minimal, gritty, yet musically eclectic collection of songs with a lyrically dark slant.
"As soon as 'The Drinking Song' was written, it became very visual for me," Paul Livornese told us. "I automatically envisioned Cabaret meets Reefer Madness. I think most people think it's a fun song until they give it a good listen. The video really tells the story. One many of us have encountered."
He continued, "You start out a night with a cocktail or two, you hit that drink that takes you to the point of no return. You think its fun, you know you'll hurt, you keep on drinking. You pay the price, regret, yet you'll do it again. You know you will."
Will you toss one back to "The Drinking Song?"
