ARTISTdirect.com has partnered with Canadian band Two Hours Traffic to premiere their video for the dreamy, sticks-to-your-cranium track "Amour Than Amis." The band will release Foolish Blood on February 19 via Bumstead Records. The album blends straight-out-of-the-garage energy with gorgeous sonic crispness. Every song hits you right in the gut, culminating in a whirlwind of giddy pop bliss. That's just how we like it.
About the video, in the band's own words:
The Concept: "The 'Amour Than Amis' video focuses on a day in the life of a young teenage girl. She spends her day alone, starting in her room before venturing out into the neighborhood on an overcast day. She rides her bike and plays in the mud, but it is clear from her demeanor that she is not merely playing around - she's searching for something. Shots of the band are interspersed throughout the video and in the end, the girl discovers the band playing in a garage. She is only mildly impressed."
The Shoot: "It was very cold in Toronto the day we shot the video. We had heat patches in our boots to try and stay warm. Many of the close-up shots were done one member at a time, so the best part of the day was warming up inside the house and eating Italian food. We shot in reverse, starting with the final scene where the young girl drives up on her bike and sees us playing in the garage. It was hard for us to picture how it would play out, but we're very happy with the end result."
The Result: "The directors initially wanted to use a teenage boy instead of a girl, but in the end they thought that a girl would be more interesting. All of our music is told from the male perspective so they thought it would be cool to turn things around and tell a different story with the video. It causes the viewer to question who this girl is, and in a way, we think the directors were trying to give the background story of a girl that could one day become the love interest in a pop song."
But don't just take our word or their word for it. Enjoy the video for "Amour Than Amis."
