In a move that won't surprise longtime fans—four years and many tour-free months separated the release of The Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place and this year's All of a Sudden I Miss EveryoneExplosions in the Sky has decided to drop "off the face of the earth for awhile." While that may sound dramatic and dire, the group has announced three solid months of tour dates to leave its cult following with lots of guitar-guided memories. Broken up into several legs, the 2008 trek starts in England January 23, hits the U.S. between March 14 and April 13, and finally wraps up with a couple gigs in Switzerland. Oh, and don't forget the All Tomorrow's Parties festival that Explosions in the Sky curated between from May 16-18 in Minehead, England.

Eluvium and Lichens (a.k.a. Rob Lowe of 90 Day Men) will support the band on different spots throughout the tour, as indicated by Pitchforkmedia.com.

"These will probably be our last shows for quite some time," the band added on its Web site. "We hope some of you can make it out."
