Feature: Faces of 21st Century Heavy Metal — Ghost B.C.

Arguably, there are a few heavy metal and hard rock bands out there right now that can stand proudly alongside the best—Metallica, Pantera, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax, and the like. In fact, heavy music is only getting stronger in this day and age. There's a bevy of bands that have picked up that proverbial torch and continued burning down the world with it.
ARTISTdirect.com wanted to highlight a few of them as they're not only waving the flag for the genre but for musicianship as well.
We also wanted to preface this with a special criteria. This is only a list of bands who released their first album after the year 2000. This is strictly a "21st Century" list.
Without further pomp and circumstance and horns proudly up...
Next up is…
Ghost B.C.'s sophomore psalm, INFESTISSUMAM, unfolds for the world to see April 9. It's already a contender for "album of the year" as far as ARTISTdirect.com is concerned. They're the first band in ages to truly emanate real, genuine mystique. At the same time, their melodies shimmer with an elegant level songwriting on par with The Beatles—but infused with ponderous Satanic musings. Musically, the album teeters between orchestral keys, expansive soundscapes, and potent powerful riffing. Papa Emeritus II and the Group of Nameless Ghouls have arrived, and they're going to possess everyone in sight.
Hard rock hasn't been this wonderfully evil and eternal—ever.
