Feature: Gerard Way Is Back To Take Over Rock 'n' Roll

"Do you miss me?" asks Gerard Way on "Action Cat", the first aural glimpse of his solo album Hesitant Alien.
Now, the record drops on September 30, and the video for the first single "No Shows" debuts August 19. However, "Action Cat" perfectly sets the stage for it. From the fuzzy guitars and energetic swing, the only proper answer to Mr. Way's question is a resounding and unanimous, "Yes!"
Music has greatly missed him since the release of My Chemical Romance's last epic, Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys. This is crucial moment for him to return too as nobody is making rock 'n' roll this vivacious, vital, and vibrant. The distorted hum of "Action Cat" struts with a devilish Brit-rock charm and tenacity a la The Who with the right amount of 21st century swagger thrown in for good measure. The music's fuzzed-out enough to shake up any dance floor or festival ground, yet Way's signature delivery and sense of soul remain the most captivating element of "Action Cat" and the solo fare.
He delivers each line with poetry and panache, giving rock 'n' roll a leader once again. Nobody else can do it like he can, and that's the sign of an icon.
