The Boston Marathon takes place on Monday April 21, Patriots’ Day, in Boston. Once again, Joey McIntyre of New Kids on the Block is lacing up to run the marathon for an incredible cause. Last year, the iconic singer, songwriter, and performer raised $40,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association. His mom lives with the disease, and he was able to go the distance to help the world work towards a cure and #endALZ.
This year, McIntyre’s also raising money for a second important initiative. OneFund benefits the families of and survivors of last year’s tragedy. He’s keeping all of them in his heart and mind as he runs in 2014.
McIntyre is not only one of the most talented performers in pop music, but he’s also got a heart of gold, giving an example that should prove inspiring to everyone. He certainly doesn’t have to run, but he is running in order to give back. That’s truly invigorating and deserves to be recognized. We need more entertainers like that. He's giving the world a light it needs.
Support Joey’s journey this year here and help both Alzheimer’s Association and OneFund.
