Kid Cudi's vision has always extended far beyond music, eclipsing a universe all its own. Again, with his next directorial tour de force, the music video for "King Wizard", he expands the outer reaches even further yet again. The track itself brandishes some of his sharpest rhymes yet like "You love that little bit of new, now throwback" and "I can't decide, what if life's a lie?"

Whether it's a lie or not Cudi speaks the truth every time he picks up a microphone on stage or enters a vocal booth. In the music video, he once again places it inside an ornate gold frame like "Just What I Am", but here this grainy and gritty filter reigns supreme. Within the background, he cuts through the verses with palpable intensity burning through the haze. It's an avant garde visual masterpiece, and it proves to be mind-blowing at every turn.

There's a really important line. Cudi declares, "I can't ever front". That's what the world needs so badly—an artist this bold, brave, and brilliant. He's beyond genres with the kind emotional resonance of a Kurt Cobain and technical ability to match the likes of Kanye West.

    Forever hail "King Wizard"…
