With Indicud looming on the horizon, April 23 to be exact, Kid Cudi had a little something special to share with fans.

"Immortal", which he produced himself, once again sees hip-hop's most daring hero leap boldly into new territory with unparalleled success, breaking ground as he goes. After a Billy Madison sample of Adam Sandler screaming "I am the smartest man alive", a calculated beat pulsates with handclaps and flourishes of shimmering orchestration. Cudi confidently stomps through the soundscape with his dynamic cadence, adding a groovy flavor. Lyrically, he's telling a cinematic story following a narrative from the bottom to the top, proclaiming, "I'm living my life as if I got powers and, tonight, I feel Immortal".

It's a hook that'll empower as much as it will engage. His vision once again never compromises to the status quo and he creates an undeniably catchy song while disregarding all traditions. The visuals of the "city" and "cave" nod to our favorite superheroes. Mid-song a skittering guitar solo adds another dimension altogether, and it's blissfully brilliant.

Hip-hop desperately needed a superhero. It got something better. It got Cudi.
