Feature: NEFF and Lucasfilm Throw a "Star Wars" Party Like No Other

This past weekend, premier street wear and style maven NEFF hosted the ultimate Star Wars celebration in conjunction with Lucasfilm. The Star Wars Legion exhibit invaded the Robert Vargas Gallery downtown with a high-profile VIP reception on Thursday May 1. Real live stormtroopers stalked the space on the offensive as Jonathan Vargas live-painted a mural of a stormtrooper helmet in front of a bevy of stylish onlookers and tastemakers. The helmets themselves were designed by numerous artists and celebrity aficionados as picked by Lucasfilm and NEFF.
Mind-blowing interpretations ranged from a "cheeseburger and fries" stormtrooper helmet—that looked as tasty as it sounds—to "Troop Detective" which paid homage to True Detective placing Dora Lange-style antlers on a stormtrooper helmet. Elsewhere, one stormtrooper became a vinyl record player, while the history of this iconic figure was recounted on the wall. All the while, DJ Baby Chino mixed up a galactically awesome soundtrack orbiting around Ariana Grande's new smash "Problem" and even Nelly's "Hot in Herre" with flourishes of sci-fi expanse piped through for good measure.
Moreover, snowboarding pro Dingo roamed around taking photos, while actor Jonathan Sadowski [The Chernobyl Diaries] professed his love for the epic to execs.
NEFF truly used the force to bring together their movement with one of the greatest stories ever told.
