Yoshiki's majesty truly comes into focus in a stripped-down setting.
Place the legendary X Japan leader in front of a piano alone, and the results utterly magical. Last night, the GRAMMY Museum in Los Angeles kicked off its "Yoshiki" exhibit with a star-studded ceremony and, most importantly, a transcendent performance from the man himself.
He took to the piano for a flawless rendition of "Forever Love" that echoed soulfully throughout the night, conjuring classical bliss and his own modern flare simultaneously. "Endless Rain" proved equally chilling as he played his one-of-a-kind crystal piano emoting with each note. None other than visionary Stan Lee and Marc Geiger (the icon behind ARTISTdirect.com's foundation and current head of music at William Morris Endeavor) hosted the festivities.
The night also saw Yoshiki reveal the dates for the first leg of his upcoming U.S. tour in support of the marvelous 2013 opus Yoshiki Classical.
