Fighting With Wire encapsulate everything great about rock 'n' roll.
On their forthcoming sophomore album, Colonel Blood [ Available September 25 on Xtra Mile Recordings/ILG], the Northern Ireland trio merge tuneful magic a la Foo Fighters with a modern punk grit reminiscent of At the Drive-In. However, they're so much more than that.
ARTISTdirect.com is proud to exclusively debut the single, "Didn't Wanna Come Back Home" below!
SONG REVIEW, 5 out of 5 stars: From the jump, "Didn't Wanna Come Back Home" kicks into high gear with a propulsive riff and bombastic beat. Quickly, a palm-muted guitar chugs underneath frontman Cahir O’Doherty hypnotic verse. After setting the scene, he carries the track's undeniable hook flawlessly. Everything devolves into a searing breakdown that's heavy on groove and harmonics before the last bridge. Bassist Jamie and drummer Craig McKean lock into an impeccable rhythm that anchors the track.
These three lads have got both the melodic sensibility and attitude of rock's best. If you've been dying for a kickass band to revive the genre, you don't have to look any farther. Join Fighting With Wire as they wage war on mediocrity and rip right through the competition.
They're going to raise the bar high on Colonel Blood. Already, "Didn't Wanna Come Back Home" is one of the best songs of 2012.
