First City Festival, the boutique music and arts festival featuring a thoughtfully curated, eclectic mix of artists performing on intimate stages in a beautiful coastal setting, has announced that five new artists have been added to the two-day festival happening Saturday, August 23, and Sunday, August 24 at the Monterey County Fair and Event Center.
In addition to headliners Beck and The National, FCF will feature Liars, Future Islands, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., Tanlines and Connan Mockasin.
More than 30 bands will be performing on the same grounds where the pioneering Monterey Pop Festival took place in 1967.
Dawes, Cults, Blind Pilot, Sleepy Sun and more are also set to perform.
FCF promises a full day and night of entertainment in a laid-back atmosphere with distinctive attractions including a full carnival with rides and games.
All rides are included in the ticket price.
A boon to artisan entrepreneurs, First City Festival is the only U.S. festival to boast the Unique USA Marketplace--an extremely popular diversion with first year attendees—which features curated independent designers and hand-made couture, all of which is made in the U.S.A. by independent designers. New this year to the festival grounds is a full Craft-beer and Wine garden which will feature superb California wines as well as gourmet food vendors and a vinyl record marketplace curated by Beat Swap Meet, consisting of vinyl vendors and collectors from all over the state.
